Twins & Multiples

  1. Even though they might always be together, sometimes one will be awake and one asleep or one sick and one well. Therefore, these times would mean they might not be together and an additional monitor might come in handy.

  2. I had two monitors with my girls. One was in their room on the second floor at all times. Plus one was for the spare first floor room they would nap in when they were infants. That I later used in the basement play room when they were downstairs just so I could hear what was going on. Plus I would take that one along with me if we went to Grammas house or anywhere else if I wanted to make sure I’d hear them.

  3. We got the video montior that came with two separate cameras and one TV. You switch the channel on the small TV and could view each crib. I would consider this an essential items. Saved me many trips into the room when I heard something.

  4. Depends if they share a bedroom and how many floors are in your home.

  5. We have two monitors. One is the audio only type with two receivers. I can leave a receiver in the basement or take it outside. We also take this one with us when we travel. Another is the video camera with tv that we received as a gift. It’s not all that great for twins as the camera’s viewing angle is quite small. You couldn’t see the whole crib when they were sharing one. But I suspect that it will come in handy once they are playing independantly and I can keep an eye on them.

  6. We always used one until our boys went into their own cribs. Then we ordered a 2nd camera and just switched channels on the single monitor. Works well for us!
