Cell phones are a good way to stay connected to our children. Can they “be bad” for children? Sure, they can. But, they can also be used as a valuable tool of communication between a parent and a child. You need ground rules on cell phones, the same as you need them for anything else that you expose your child to. I wouldn’t dream of leaving my child at home alone without a working telephone in case there was an emergency. Why would I send my child out in this world without the same protection?
